Kirsty Andrew is a London based artist with a Fine Art, Sculpture Degree (Central Saint Martins 2015), Ceramics Diploma (City Lit 2023) and MA Ceramics & Glass (RCA, 2024)
Kirsty is currently on the MRes program at the RCA and is also on the Board of Trustees for the British Ceramics Biennial.
Kirsty’s work is influenced by memory, family and relationships; by the conflict between what is known and unknown, the covert and the public; and by the contrast between natural and urban environments.
Curtains characterise the barriers inherent to daily life, the duality of our public and private lives. They conceal whilst revealing glimpses of what lies behind.
Kirsty’s approach is investigatory, researching her subject in depth. She thinks through the creative process by methodical, repetitive testing and making. Old ideas coming back to the forefront years later.
She is a multi-disciplinary artist, having shown mixed media sculptures, prints, drawings, and handmade books. Over recent years she has been drawn to the versatility of clay.
